Gritstone has been quarried and worked on our site in Grindleford for over 200 years. As a finishing facility quarrying its own stone, Stoke Stoneworks offer a fluid supply chain from extraction to delivery, providing a complete range of tailoring to meet the needs of any project.
The fine, golden buff gritstone from our quarry is of significant historic and cultural importance, and is fully prepared onsite. Technology has advanced somewhat since stone was first extracted from our quarry, and we continue to invest in modern machinery and computer-aided manufacturing to broaden our product range and tighten our tolerances, enabling faster and more accurate cutting to tighter timescales. We practice responsible quarrying, ensuring that our operations have minimal environmental impact, and work with organisations such as the Peak District National Park to minimise the carbon footprint of local builds.
